For the first time in a few weeks, I found a Salticid. Three, actually, but the others will have to wait. I saw this amazing spider at the Chesapeake Aboretum, on a pile of wood. It is a male Habronattus coecatus, which I’ve never seen before. He was very impressed with a female nearby Salticid, but she was not interested in his advances. Note the olive green color of his 3rd legs. Such a beautiful spider.
