For the first time in a few weeks, I found a Salticid. Three, actually, but the others will have to wait. I saw this amazing spider at the Chesapeake Aboretum, on a pile of wood. It is a maleĀ Habronattus coecatus, which I’ve never seen before. He was very impressed with a female nearby Salticid, but she was not interested in his advances. Note the olive green color of his 3rd legs. Such a beautiful spider.
All photos taken with a Canon 5d Mark 2, Canon Mp-e 65mm lens, Canon mt-24ex flash, and a home made diffuser (I just made it, more on that in the future).
